Calvin Bolt Inspections & Testing

"Relax, trust in quality and experience for your home inspection."

About Me

I was born and raised on a farm near Pierceton IN. My wife Debbie is originally from Pennsylvania and we have four children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. I come from a family with a strong work ethic, and where honesty is of the utmost importance. My goal is to always help and educate people and clients. My first goal is not to "make money" but to create happy and satisfied customers first. If I do this first, then I will be able to "make a living". Too many companies out there have this backwards, and only want to "make (big) money". They have said to me, "I am not in (my) business to make happy customers; I am in (my) business to make money". To me, this is a sad statement.

I have been inspecting homes since 2004 on a full time basis. Prior to this, it was part time while I was in construction. I have an extensive background, with 27 years of remodeling, troubleshooting, and repairing in all phases of home construction in Kosciusko County, IN. I have completed well over 10,000 jobs during those 27 years.

I am a member of the Indiana Builders Association Codes Committee in Indianapolis, and was one of eight voting members representing the Indiana Builders Association, on the 2009 Indiana Residential Code REVIEW Committee. I have been awarded the Council designation of Certified Microbial Investigator by the American Council for Accredited Certification. I have attended training at Purdue and hold an inspectors license for Wood Destroying Insects and Wood Destroying Fungi. I have also attended Ball State University and hold three licenses, issued from the Indiana Department of Environment Management (IDEM) for asbestos inspection, lead paint inspection, and lead paint risk assessor. After 10 years, as of July 19, 2014, Calvin no longer holds a commercial asbestos license, but can still inspect and perform testing on your home for asbestos. As of October 2016, Calvin no longer holds a license for lead paint inspection or lead paint risk assessor. As of 12/31/2022 Calvin no longer holds a license for Wood Destroying Insects and Wood Destroying Fungi.

I am a graduate of Inspectors Training Associates (ITA), which is a two week detailed training and continuing education program for home inspectors. I passed the National Home Inspector's Examination as well as the American Society of Home Inspectors' Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics exams. Additionally, I completed the National Environmental Health Association's Radon Proficiency Program and am State certified by the Indiana State Department of Health. As of October 2016, Calvin no longer holds a license to perform radon testing.

I am a member of the Builders Assocation of North Central Indiana (www.buildnci.com), Member of ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) (www.ashi.org) - ASHI Certified Inspector, Member of IAQA (Indoor Air Quality Association), Member of Independent Home Inspectors of North America, Building Safety Professional Member of the International Code Council (www.iccsafe.org), Board Member of INASHI (Indiana Chapter of American Society of Home Inspectors), Member of National Association of Home Builders and Certified Lead Renovator. As of 2021 Calvin no longer holds a license as a Certified Lead Remodelor.
